...And Taking the "ice" Back out Again

Turns out I got a message just half an hour after posting that last entry apologizing for a miscommunication--a completely innocent one that I have no hard feelings about. The person at work I talked to thought I was wanted for work on the ice, but the boss decided he would move another polar project around so that another member of the polar group could fill in for Scotty, so I was only needed for the prep in Boulder. A bit of a disappointment, but I got over it. I mean, I'd still love to go, but I'm not upset. Bummed, but not upset. It's different.

So, here I am in Boulder cranking away with the polar group, which it's fun to be a part of again. I feel like I'm working as part of an actual team, which is something I've experience very rarely here and which I've missed. The polar crew is a great one--good personalities, mostly good cooperation. So it's been nice.

Still, I'm ready for change.
