Pre-Fang
Well, I've taken my last shower for a good month or so, had my hair cut (4 inches off, to make it easier to comb), and am just about to change my clothes and head down to the helo pad to catch my ride up to Fang camp, which is at the base of the nasty-looking ridge (Fang Ridge) pictured here. We'll stay at least two nights there to acclimitize, more if a storm comes. Wish me minimal wooziness!

This is one of your fellow McMurdoinians/Antarcticinians here, just giving a shout out from town. We just had an enormous Thanksgiving dinner, complete with Turkey, Prime Rib, Pumpkin Pie...and all you get is a soggy dehydrated meal- Ha! No, I'm sure it was better then that and you didn't have to wait in a line for a half hour either- thats right- a half hour! Everyone dressed up for the occasion but I wore my Carharts as usual. What did you say- I'm not socially aggressive? Ha! Anyway, how is it up there? Is it as cold as you thought it would be? Yesterday I did some x-country skiing on the sea ice and looked up at that big pluming volcano and thought,"WOW!"- what a great view she must have! So do tell. Dave
Beth!
Great site. Hope your stinky self is managing to stay warm. Just think Maui! Guess this no shower thing is going to be a theme for the coming year of adventure. Heres to dreads...

What sort of resources does it have past internet access? How "warm" is it compared to outside or your tent? How warm is your tent? (smiles) Keep on writing!
